I'll start off by saying at one time I was a member for a little over a year and totally happy with everything. Not so much anymore.
A few months ago I decided to once again join CardRunners. I decided to pick the option which allows you to forego paying the ridiculous "sign up fee" all of these sites make you pay - reminds me of a gym membership where they charge you $100 to fill out your own forms.
Anyways ... either I've gotten much better at poker over the past two years or the quality of their instructors and videos has decreased. I enjoyed the CTS vids a lot but they simply come too infreqently and so I decided to write their support team and ask if they could cancel my membership.
I was told I would receive a refund for 10 months less the initial sign up fee. I questioned this at first since their FAQ site doesn't even have a refund policy listed - mistake #1 on their part.
They said it's a good faith thing and yadda yadda yadda ... fair enough. I was under the impression that I'd get like $200 back.
The whole conversation transpired on a Thursday. The next Tuesday when I didn't see the credit posted I asked for an update. The reply I received was that it was being looked into and they'd get back to me ASAP.
Three days later I asked for an update. Here is where it gets interesting, and by interesting I mean here is where they suck.
A completely new email is sent to me by CR Customer Service and in this one they tell me they talked to their CFO and now my refund is going to be $72. Um... what?
Yeah, apparently they are telling me that I signed a 12 month contract and now I am getting a fraction of what they already promised to refund me.
W-T-F?
Once again I told them they have no refund policy stated anywhere on their website and that they are simply inventing one as they correspond with me, and doing so poorly at that.
Finally I told them to just refund me $72 because I never again want anything to do with the halfwits who run the daily operations of CardRunners.com
I'm not writing this in the hopes that anyone worthwhile will see it and refund me what I am properly owed - I write this as a warning to others so they do not have to go through this.
Tay/Andrew - you may be great poker players but you currently run a terrible business.

P.S. I still have the entire email correspondence saved in case there's any doubt to what I say - I know if I were the reader I'd have a hard time believing their customer service is actually this atrocious ...
