Online – Mock Hand Practice
By fetaman on 09-06-2008 12:23 AM

It has been a while, since I have made the real effort to post here in PD, but I have a real issue, and I just can’t seem to decide, and really need PD help.

Big cards, or small ones.

I mean, the big cards, are like the ones we see at the real casino’s or like the ones the use in the WPT and WSOP and stuff.

The small ones are the little dollar store ones, or the airplane sized ones.

Well, I was told by a teacher to use the small ones, when I am looking at my hands while playing, so I can lay the cards out in front of me, and visualize them.  He says he used them initially to help him focus.  Since my game has gone to shit, I am wondering if anyone has any ideas?

The big ones are easier to see, but the small one’s are easier to handle.

Does anyone have a better way to do this, it is getting harder, especially when I multi-table.  Using two decks is not as easy as it sounds.

I can’t even eat any food or surf anymore when playing, and I am losing interest in the game.

Thoughts?

it is, and not sure if I am doing it right, and need some advice.

is this a normal way of tracking?
i have been a long time listener, and trying to be a first time caller here is not as easy as it sounds.

plus, I obviously am asking trying to show some humility...

seriously PD...a little help...anyone?

When i run my hand histories live to review, I use cards similar to "The Price Is Right" cards.  This makes it easier to see how the hand is playing itself out.  If I can visualize the hands the opponents are playing, I learn quicker.

Use the small hands, anyone that's seen a current episode of PAD or any poker movie knows that you don't play the cards you play the player, and to win against the best, you need a whole lot more than luck. When luck closes the door you have to sneak through the window, so obv use the small hands.

Ok then...finally some constructive advice is starting to come in In reply to

Thank Hinderands...yeah I was told by my tutor that the visualization really helps.

LOL at the Price is Right, but I don't want to Plinko my chips away anymore, and although that is funny, I am serious.

It is really bumming me out, I played my multi-tables with each game on the two screens I run, one is a 21" and the other a 28", and no matter what I do, I just cant keep up anymore.

Has the game gotten faster?

I am all ready asking myself if the bent cards are as rigged as the RNG, and I know it wont matter if know what the cards on the desk are because the real issue is what is happening online.

Glad I am not the only one having these challenges though.

If anyone is having a similar issue, and is embarrassed to post, you can PM me - cause I am livid my TT got cracked on the AKQ flop, when I was ahead PF like I am all the time.

Seriously, I am thinking about quiting...it is unreal...but I want to see it through after months of trying to get this down.

Hinderance (*or anyone) did you read about this, or get it from the forum(s)?

tx.

Sup Feta?

We've all been there bro....cant win a race to save our lives.  It does change, but it can really really get ya down.  My advice is to never play FTP, cause its just too sick over there, the software is def. rigged against me Wink  Send me a PM, and we'll chat, It can definitely help a person when they're in a rut to discuss and see why this bad swing is happening, its not ALL bad luck, its the way we tighten up too much in spots where maybe we should take that risk, its the times we call when we know we shouldn't just because we've given up, its the times when we overbet our hands to avoid getting called because we know if anybody calls us, were gonna lose.

It does end (so I've been told), so thats one good sign Huh?

Now ...now we know we cant make statements like that about the sites RNG's. We have no eveidence that any of the sites are rigged, right? A human can never see patterns in software, you last 200 sng buy-ins are no indication of what is mathematically possible nor probable. All of the rake earning sites are strictly legitimate. It's not possible that the owners or programmers of a site might want to put a cap on how much a real player wins or cashes, no reason for a board of directors to want to maximize profits by helping the fish.

We seem to be getting off track here. The OP asked what most people prefer the larger or smaller cards. Since I went to using my laptop I have found that using the small cards work better. Here are the smallest ones I have found to use.

When I was using the large ones these seem to be top top.

I hope this information help.

It has to be rigged... In reply to
By fetaman on 09-06-2008 2:07 PM

The cards I have been using are different when I pull from the deck vs. the ones that are online.

If it was not rigged, how would this work?

Seriously, I am confused.

How can the patterns not be possible and not be probable?
They exist, as I play the games, I still get cards.

*duh*

The original question still stands, when using these cards, do you PD, know how to correlate them?

I saw one poster make reference to the big cards, and they are cool (*thanks for link) - but the small ones are neat, and I like the pictures, it keeps my mind off the bad beats.

Again, as I mentioned, am I cheating if I know the cards next in the deck from the folds in the corner, and how come they don't match the "random" cards  in the game online?

Thanks again.

How do those cards not match up? In reply to

sarcasm

noun
witty language used to convey insults or scorn; "he used sarcasm to upset his opponent"; "irony is wasted on the stupid"; "Satire is a sort of glass, wherein beholders off topic do generally discover everybody's face within their own"--Jonathan Swifut

I am confused, by the last comment from carib.

Just trying to find out of the technique I am using is off centre, or the dope is in the sites?

[ ] use big cards
[ ] use small cards
[ ] do not use cards
[x] confused about buzzing the tower

are you saying the bent cards are not dead give aways, or marked cards?
what about the marked 8?
do you mark that 8, or not?

thanks in advance.
